As we criticize restaurants for high prices, we as customers need - TopicsExpress

As we criticize restaurants for high prices, we as customers need to remember what goes into that pricing scheme. Very rarely do restauranteurs get rich; even more rarely does that happen in a small town. Most are just trying to make ends meet, and maybe a little profit. Not only do they have the overhead of the building costs, but also must pay their help. Minimum wage continues to increase, and some places want to pay their employees above that. Notice the cost of the groceries in the store, especially as they continue to climb...restaurants feel that pinch as well. And when a place goes above and beyond the typical Sysco order and chooses to support local people, like sourcing their bread from Green Blade, meat from local ranches, or produce from small farms, we should reward them for that effort, not be upset that a dish costs an extra dollar. Support the little guys so they stick around! :)
