As we depart from Fatima I have to reflect on the total contrast - TopicsExpress

As we depart from Fatima I have to reflect on the total contrast of the two Pilgrimage places that we have visited, Santiago de Compostela, Spain and the Sanctuary of Fatima, Portugal. Without a doubt this contrast has marked the peak and turning point of this student/church pilgrimage, the before and after, their "Grañon". And I can proudly say "mission accomplished". With regards my own interior Pilgimage I have to say I still have a tug of war going on with religion. How about I just take the best of each faith? I left Santiago without saying goodbye to the Apostle. I have never done that before. I was on my way but I got distracted on the steps of the Cathedral. There was a clown entertaining the people on the street. I so much needed to laugh and I love clowns so I sat down on the steps and watched. Everybody laughing, smiling, children with aminal balloons, people from dozens of different countries all eyes on a man in front of them that had no formal job and needed no speech to communicate. The common language was happiness. The time went by so quickly that when I turned around to go into the Cathedral the doors were shut. I reflected to myself, God lives everywhere, and Jesus probably spends more time outside a church than in it. He was that type of guy, mixing with themon folk, a Doer. I dont know what type of clothes he would wear today, for sure not the suits of a politician, the crown of a king or even the robes of a Pope. He is to humble for that, he would be appalled. Maybe he wears many different ones, maybe the clothes of a clown. It is not the first time I have encountered a clown on the Camino. Here is my song for the day youtube/watch?v=cNd4eocq2K0&feature=youtube_gdata_player
