As we draw near to the all important mid-term election, I am reminded of the words of the Condi Rice speech at the 2012 Republican Convention, one of the most compelling convention speeches I have ever heard, especially this portion of her remarks: My fellow Americans, ours has never been a narrative of grievance and entitlement. We have never believed that I am doing poorly because you are doing well. We have never been jealous of one another and never envious of each others successes.....I wrote those words down and put them in a file in my desk because they were spot on then...Although I believe strongly in helping those who are struggling through difficult economic seasons, I do not believe that the government should encourage its people to remain in that season permanently for the sake of securing more votes on election day. Unfortunately, Ms. Rices comments can almost be considered prophetic, because we seem to have become entrenched in a narrative of entitlement and grievance. How I pray that we can break free from that national bondage. God bless you all...Praying fervently for the U.S.A. as the election draws near....
