As we draw near to the end of another year we reflect on our lives. I was thinking back to 2008. I graduated from college with a bachelor of science in psychology. Not long after that I began graduate school to work on a Masters in marriage and family therapy. Early into grad school my university heaped $2000 in fees they didnt tell me about until after they charged me with them. I fought tooth and nail and begged them to give me time to pay these fees down a little at a time. They refused. We were and still struggle with making ends meet. In the meantime the university wont let me back into classes until I pay these school fees. At the same time this mess is putting my school loans in jeopardy. It amazes me how $2000 can be a drop in the bucket for some but for folks like me $2000 may as well be two million. Yes, it does get me down but I keep on going, taking care of my family and still trying to get those fees paid.
