As we give thanks for everything weve received from our God and loved ones not only this year, this life, but for countless generations lets put aside political correctness and examine the actual historical facts surrounding the first thanksgiving. In this video Ben Shapiro does a great job of outlining the history and the false narratives that are often spread on social media. I dont deny there was wrong done to the native population when the policies of manifest destiny were undertaken, but this really has nothing to do with the first thanksgiving which had nothing to do with oppression, just about a lot of love and a lot of suffering caused by illness and a group of good people who struggled to find their way and find a political system that worked for them so they could thrive in the new world. This small settlement had little to do with the overall population of settlers, or the colonial governments that would later spring up and create the 13 original colonies.
