As we were driving along the back roads last night, heading home after our impromptu day trip, out of the blue Doc turned left onto a country road that I knew wasnt the way. Then he took another side road that was all but dirt and we drove for a bit. All of a sudden he pulled over to the side of the road, with seemingly no one else in the world, and got out, coming around and opening my door. Look! my lover pointed up at the sky. Ive never seen the Milky Way so clearly! Neither had I...nor had I been paying attention to a small thing like the details of the beautiful heavens! As we stood there and literally gazed, we agreed wed also never seen as many bright stars. We kissed and hugged, and since it was a mere 20°, we got back in the car and again made our way home. My life isnt perfect nor am I. Im pretty clear on that and I will never confess to be. And our love isnt perfect. Were as flesh-and-blood as it gets and sometimes go to the mat. But we always get back up. To be sure, on this one thing I am extremely confident and grateful. I married a star gazer and a dream weaver and a heart taker. And a life healer. Thank You, Maker of the stars and heavens, for giving me a taste of Heaven in this bigger-than-life man whose love is wider than the mountains and higher than the sky. Thank you, Doc, for being more and loving me deeper than my heart and and soul and mind (and body!) could have ever imagined. How I love you! Thank you for continuing to remind me to look up!
