As you get older, memorials and funerals start to cluster faster than you would like. But after having the privilege to witness the raw truth, emotion, and all-encompassing love that the family and friends of Jeffrey P. McManus shared with his community tonight all I can say is that I am desperately grateful I was there. How can shared pain be so exhilarating? I feel like a stunned ox, and I also feel more alive than ever right now.
