As you know we are attending Southend Armed Forces Day this year, well Lisa Ferne Southend on sea’s events manager is pulling out all the stops to make Armed Forces day 2014 Southend the place to be well done Lisa! It as already started with only two weeks to go yesterday with a great amount of public turning out to show their support for the Veterans and Cadets as they proudly paraded through Southend to St Johns Church with the Parachute Regimental Association for the dedication of their new Standard. (See Photo’s). Also showing their support was Storm Troopers from star wars getting behind Armed Forces Day on a visit to Southend, whilst they were in the town raising funds for MacMillan Cancer Support. Nothing to do with Southend Armed Forces Day but what a way to get the children involved. We are looking forward to meeting our members that have said they will be there and hope there will be a lot more over the weekend. On our stall we will also have Veteransnet putting out the events, music and interviewing veterans, also we will have a veteran busker playing his guitar to the public. Please like and share Southend Armed Forces Day, even if you do not live in the area you can show your support for our Armed Forces passed and present, it is a new FB group but very active with its members joining in and showing their support. ___________________________________________________________
