The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Connection Team, FAACT is forming a Teen Sibling Advisory Council, which consists of teens from around the country who are siblings to those with food allergies. Siblings are just as affected. They also educate and advocate just as much for their siblings to keep them safe and healthy. Thank you to the parents and siblings who reached out to FAACT to let us know that siblings were interested in participating in FAACTs teen programs. We are very excited about this new program. Teen Siblings will have the opportunity to help develop educational materials and initiatives, write articles for FAACT’s newsletters and blogs, contribute content for FAACT’s Web site, and mentor other teens and youth - all from the Sibling perspective. Teens will be expected to complete a project each month assigned to them. Teen Sibling Advisory Council members will also have the opportunity to participate in and facilitate sessions at FAACT’s annual Food Allergy Conferences and Teen Conference. Teen Siblings must be ages 11-18 to apply. Applications will be accepted through February 21, 2014. The 2014 term will begin March 1 and end December 31, 2014.
