Life is fragile, and short... We are currently at 22 veterans suicides a day. Dont forget, not all wounds are visible. Many of us are dealing with incredible wounds inside us, and the Demons that accompany them. Veterans, check on your brothers and sisters. If you are a civilian and know a veteran, especially a combat veteran, reach out to them and check on their well-being. Sometimes all the difference between whether that person decides to keep living or not, can be as simple as a text message that says: Hey, I just wanted to see how you are doing and let you know that I love you. For anyone that has a friend or family member, not just veteran or military, that deals with some sort of Mental Illness such as Anxiety, Depression, or PTSD, please reach out to them. Let them know that they matter to you. You cant fix them, but you can certainly make a difference. We are our Brothers and Sisters Keeper. Its up to us to make it through this together. Not alone. If you are someone that is having a difficult time, especially with the holidays coming up, reach out to someone, even if you think they might not understand, it just may be the first necessary step needed to obtain the proper help.
