Ash has been doing well. Her BP has been normal since she got here. She was a little disorientated and confused from about Friday evening till about 3am this morning. It started right around the time they increased her muscle relaxer from twice a day a 5mg to 3 times a day at 10mg. She would wake up and be a little out of it for about 5 minutes and then she would be fine, drowsy but well aware of everything. At about 5am she was a lot better and by 7am there was no confusion at all. At that point it had been 10 hour since her last dose of the muscle relaxer. They decreased the dosage to 5mg, which she took at 9am and although she is super sleepy she has been fine. Dr. Cunningham came in. He said that due to the confusion she has had they would like for her to stay another 24 hours in the ICU just as a precaution to make sure there is no more confusion. She will have an MRI of the Brain in the morning just to make sure all is okay. Ashley was sleepy but was able to say hello and goodbye to Dr. Cunningham. About a minute or two after Dr. Cunningham left she said, “Wait, did Dr. Cunningham say I had to stay here another day?” I said, “Yes”. She said, “That Sucks!” Then right after that she had some visitors. Allison & Katie (Ashley’s 6th Floor Nurses) showed up for a visit. Then we also noticed that Jen, one of her night shift Nurse’s from the 6th floor had been in early this morning and left a note on Ashley’s board. You can see why we love these ladies so much. Allison came with a gift. First I have to tell the story behind the gift. One day Ash was a little loopy from all the pain meds and Benadryl. She had on her beanie hat on (Picture of her below) and it had gone up over her ears. I told her that she looked like Dopey from the 7 Dwarfs. Allison, Mike and I were laughing about it and giving each of us a Dwarf name. I told Allison today I though Mike was sleepy, but I may have been wrong, I think we named him Grumpy and I really don’t remember the name we gave Allison and I. Maybe she will remember. Anyway, Allison brought her a hat with Dopey embroidered on it. It is so cute! Can’t wait to take a picture of her wearing it. She is really sleepy right now, in fact she said that she wishes they would give her Benadryl so she can sleep through the rest of her stay here in the ICU. She has the same nurse as yesterday and as I said she is fantastic. I really liked her night nurse here as well. She just wants back to her 6th floor nurse’s and it is looking like it will happen tomorrow! Yippee!!!! We are day +2. That leaves 38 more to go till she goes to the Ronald McDonald House! Lots of prayers for smooth sailing from this point on. I told Ash I will let her slide on the “Funny Business” this time, but no more! Praise God for carrying us this far!
