Asha update: Just finished our recheck visit with Dr Seekins. Ashas chest X-rays look better, her lungs are considerably more clear and that is great news. Her bloodwork also looked good (we have to keep our eye on some of her levels due to the medications she is on). We still are not sure why this happened (and may never know). The doctors believe it is an autoimmune response causing the issues in her lungs. We will continue to treat the inflammation (with steroids, brochidialators and antibiotics). She goes back in two weeks for another set of X-rays. Now we wait and see how she progresses. The plan is to slowly take her off the medications and see how she responds. Today we are reducing her antibiotics. While it seems unclear and uncertain, this is the best news we could have gotten today. Dr Seekins was very happy and so are we. One day at a time around here.
