Assalaamu alaikum president Waheed, Alhamdulillah, the SFJMs - TopicsExpress

Assalaamu alaikum president Waheed, Alhamdulillah, the SFJMs twelve night Milad un Nabi commemoration began on Tuesday night after Maghrib salaah, beginning with recitation of Al Quran, Fatiha, Qaseedas, short discourse, closing dua and Isha salaah. I wonder what new qaseedas you have in store for tonight Insha Allah? This morning we were privileged to learn more about the unique status of Rasulullah ﷺ specifically in the Quran from our teacher, and while we considered over sixteen (16) different aspects of this unique status, I would like to share just two (2) of them with you. #1- Cultivation of Love for The Beloved ﷺ Allah tells us, nay instructs us in surah 9:24, that our love for The Messenger ﷺ must be greater than for our parents, children, brothers, spouses, family, wealth, business and homes, and that if it is not, then wait until Allah brings about His decision; and Allah does not guide the rebellious. There is no other Prophet or any other creation which we are commanded to cultivate love for. There is a Hadith in which Umar (RA) is reported to have said that The Beloved ﷺ is dearer to him than everything except his own self. The Beloveds response was No, not until you (Umar RA) love Me more than you love your own self. Now remember who Umar (RA) was! He was already an extremely close companion who was obeying and following The Beloved ﷺ to the best of his ability and to an extent that it is not possible for any one today to imitate. But this wasnt enough. So some time later, Umar (RA) returned and told The Beloved ﷺ that he loved Him more than his own self. The Beloved ﷺ is reported to have said, Now you have iman!!! Clearly, obeying and following are NOT enough. #2-Dua For the Right of Muhammad ﷺ Allah forbade Prophet Adam (AS) and his wife Hawwa/Eve (RA) from eating from a particular tree. However due to the whisperings of the Shaytan, they fell prey to the temptations and ate the forbidden fruit. Then comes the infamous dua which we recite daily which Adam (AS) made to Allah; 7:23, Rabbana dhalamna anfusina........ But what was Allahs response thereafter? It was NOT one of forgiveness. It was 7:24, Get you down, with enmity between yourselves. On earth will be your dwelling place and your means of livelihood- for a time. Forgiveness came when Adam (AS) made the dua, Oh Allah, I ask you to forgive me for the right of Muhammad ﷺ. So Allah ﷻ.asked Adam (AS), how have you come to know Muhammad ﷺ when I have not yet created Him (i.e. physically)? And Adam (AS) said, it is because Oh my Rabb, that when you created me and infused in me of your spirit, I raised my head and I saw written on the uprights of the Arsh, La illaha illalahu Muhammadur Rasulullah. Adam (AS) said I knew that you Allah would not join any name to your name, except the name most beloved in all of creation to You. Allah told him, you are right. Certainly, definitely, He ﷺ is the most beloved in all of creation to Me. Make dua to Me for His right, and verily I have forgiven you. And then Allah told him, had it not been for Muhammad ﷺ, I would not have created you. This is the direct command from Allah. No shirk there!!! There is neither another Prophet nor creation who is dearer to Allah. Today is our last Sunday morning class for the year, and we will resume on Sunday 1st February 2015 Insha Allah. Good News! By public demand, a new arabic class will begin on Monday 2nd February 2015 Insha Allah at the SFJM hall. This class will be held on Mondays between Maghrib and Isha salaah, open to men and women, with an added twist of reviving the sunnah of fasting on a Monday. Refreshments to break the fast will be provided. Weve come a long way with our tajweed and our holistic understanding of this Deen. Keep revising guys! Was-salaam, Hannah
