Assalam Alikum wa rahmatu Allah wa barakatouh Majority of us were introduced to Allah with fear more than love and we tend to do the same with our children today; If you do so and so Allah will put you in hell fire…… so and so is haram and you will go to hell if you do them…… !!!.... How many times did you tell your children about the love of Allah for us?!! If someone fears something they will either rebel or will follow but not with sincerity and understanding and may leave the whole thing all together. That is why it is important to change this concept. If you understood Allah and his love towards you, you will obey him without being prompted by anyone. You grew up loving your mother and father, you also fear them but you love them more….why!!? Because you could see their love and compassion towards you. You work so hard not to upset them and you do everything you can to please them even when they are not looking. WaLLILAH Al Mathal Al A’lah, if you know the love of Allah towards you, you will be happier, your life will have a meaning and you will worship him with love . Let me bring some happiness into your life…. I want to give you a feeling of comfort and relaxation…. I want to take few minutes from your time to introduce you to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. I want to introduce you to Allah SWT in a different way…. I want to introduce you properly….I want us all to learn who is Allah and how he feels towards us. Allah named himself 99 names….. Have you ever sat down and thought why? Or have you ever felt the meaning of those names in your life? I am sure you have felt them you just don’t remember or didn’t pay attention. Al Rahman Al Raheem Happiness is that Allah SWT is Al Rahman Al Raheem….. Have you ever worshiped Allah with happiness? Allah says in Surat Yunus ayah 58: Say, In the bounty of Allah and in His mercy - in that let them rejoice; it is better than what they accumulate. The name Al Rahman means a general mercy from Allah to all his creations, Allah says in surat Al Anbya’a ayah 42: (Say, Who can protect you at night or by day from the Most Merciful? ) Al Raheem is a special mercy only for the believers, Allah SWT says in surat Al Ahzab ayah 43: (and He has been Ever-Merciful to the believers.) How lucky are we? A special mercy just for us…. Subhana Allah How do we feel happy and live with the name of Allah Al Rahman Al Raheem? This happiness started since the beginning of the Universe and it will last until the end…. When Allah SWT created the heavens and earths he wrote a word on the top of his thrown “My Mercy preceded my anger” Allah also says in surat Al Araaf ayah 156: “but My mercy encompasses all things” And in surat Al Ana’am ayah 12 he says: “He has decreed upon Himself mercy” He has not decreed upon himself anger Mercy is more loveable to Allah SWT than punishment and forgiveness is more desirable than revenge Allah SWT says in surat Taha aya 129: (And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord, punishment would have been an obligation [due immediately], and [if not for] a specified term [decreed].) What is the word? “My Mercy preceded my anger” A beautiful hadith narrated by Al Tirmithy: When Allah SWT created Adam, he breathed into Adam and the soul reached his head, he sneezed and the angels told him to say: “Alhamdulillahi Rabbil-’Alamin (Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds). And he said it and ” Allah answered him by saying: “Yarhamuk-Rabbuk (Your lord bestows His mercy upon you).” And that was the first word Allah SWT said to Adam. Abu Huraira reported Allahs Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: There are one hundred (parts of) mercy for Allah and He has sent down out of these one part of mercy upon the jinn and human beings and the insects and it is because of this (one part) that they love one another, show kindness to one another and even the beast treats its young one with affection, and Allah has reserved ninety nine parts of mercy with which He would treat His servants on the Day of Resurrection. Can you feel the happiness!!? How lucky are you? Allah SWT started the universe with Rahma and started the creation of Adam with Rahma and started the Quran and its verses with Rahma… The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: No one of you will be saved because of his deeds. They (the companions) said: Not even you, O Messenger of Allah? He said: Not even me, unless Allah bestows mercy upon me. The day and night is a mercy from Allah….imagine if there was only day or only night….what will happen to our bodies?!! Imagine if the night wouldn’t come gradually instead it would happen all of a sudden…what will happen to us and how will we live our lives? Another mercy from Allah SWT is that he made all the necessities in our lives which we cannot live without in the hands of no one but him….. like air, rain and rizq….. so no one can control your life…..Alhamdulilah Another mercy from Allah is the mercy in the social relationships … who is the one who planted the love in the hearts of the fathers and the mothers to love and care for their children despite the difficulty of giving birth and raising them…. The place where the fetus is stored is called Rahim which is taken from the word Rahmah and Allah SWT says: Allah, the Almighty and Exalted, said, I am the Merciful (ar-Rahman). I have created ties of kinship and derive a name for it from My Name. If anyone maintains ties of kinship, I maintain connection with him, and I shall cut off anyone who cuts them off. Allahs Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Allah is more kind to His servants than a compassionate mother to her child. One of Allah’s mercy is that no matter how much our sins are, he promised to forgive us: (And your Lord is the Forgiving, full of mercy. If He were to impose blame upon them for what they earned, He would have hastened for them the punishment.) surat Al Kahf aya 58 From his mercy is the mercy between married couples, Allah says: (And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy)surat Al Rum ayah 21 Some might say where is the Rahma (mercy) in the middle of all these problems and hardships? Allah SWT wants to make you happy because he is the most merciful …. This happiness will be complete in heaven not in this dunia…. so if you miss the happiness in this dunia, don’t worry Allah SWT is preparing you for what is better. Allah SWT says: (But you prefer the worldly life, While the Hereafter is better and more enduring.) surat Al A’la ayah 16 & 17 The Prophet PBUH said: The Dunya is like a Prison for the Believer (Mu’min) and a heaven to the none believer” It is mentioned that when al-Hafidh Ibn Hajr was the chief justice (of Egypt), One day he was passing through the market with a caravan, looking well groomed. So a Jew who was selling hot oil, looking very disheveled and dirty because of the oil, accosted him by grabbing the reins of his (ibn Hajr’s) mule saying, “Yaa Shaykhul-Islaam, you claim that your prophet said that the dunyaa is a prison for the mu’min and a jannah for the kaafir; so what type of prison are you in and what type of jannah am I in?” He (Ibn Hajr -rahimahullah) replied, “Regarding what Allaah has prepared for me in the hereafter from its bliss, then it is as if I am in prison, and with regards to what Allaah has prepared for you in the hereafter from its punishment, then it is as if you are in jannah.” At which point the Jew became a Muslim. And now I am going to make you hear him SWT in the hadith Al Qudsi….. hear him talk to you….feel his love and mercy…. On the authority of Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is that among the sayings he relates from his Lord (may He be glorified) is that He said: O My servants, I have forbidden oppression for Myself and have made it forbidden amongst you, so do not oppress one another. O My servants, all of you are astray except for those I have guided, so seek guidance of Me and I shall guide you. O My servants, all of you are hungry except for those I have fed, so seek food of Me and I shall feed you. O My servants, all of you are naked except for those I have clothed, so seek clothing of Me and I shall clothe you. O My servants, you sin by night and by day, and I forgive all sins, so seek forgiveness of Me and I shall forgive you. O My servants, you will not attain harming Me so as to harm Me, and you will not attain benefiting Me so as to benefit Me. O My servants, were the first of you and the last of you, the human of you and the jinn of you to be as pious as the most pious heart of any one man of you, that would not increase My kingdom in anything. O My servants, were the first of you and the last of you, the human of you and the jinn of you to be as wicked as the most wicked heart of any one man of you, that would not decrease My kingdom in anything. O My servants, were the first of you and the last of you, the human of you and the jinn of you to rise up in one place and make a request of Me, and were I to give everyone what he requested, that would not decrease what I have, any more than a needle decreases the sea if put into it. O My servants, it is but your deeds that I reckon up for you and then recompense you for, so let him who finds good praise Allah and let him who finds other than that blame no one but himself. [Muslim (also by at-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah).] On the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: Allah the Almighty said: O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great as it. [At-Tirmidhi (also by Ahmad ibn Hanbal). Its chain of authorities is sound.] Let’s from today start worshiping him with love and let’s get to know him better….. We will continue in shaa Allah soon.
