Assalam-o-Alaikum everyone! There are our teachers, parents and elders who teach us what we should do and what we should not. But another way to learn things is to do so from books. Its been a long that I was not being here, missed so many things but I dont regret it because it made me to come here up with something good this time. I have been sticking around a book named Outliers; The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell. It is a completely non-fictional book and is all about the explanation of those things which create successfull people, how people replenish themselves and how they can excel in something they are really really interested in. Astonishing is that it is based on a very deep reasearch as well. It required a lot of analytical thinking and told me what i never knew. I wont be writing the summary of course as it will not be convenient. I am only sharing the key points and the facts on the basis of what this book is written, in a really breif way. :) Gladwell defines an Outlier as a completely unprecedented individual who, in his/her field of proficiency, is so much loftier that he defines his/her own category of success. The book has two main parts. 1- Opportunity 2- Legacy Ill be writing only about the first part as it is going to be too lengthy to read, yet this is the more important part. OPPORTUNITY: *Hard work is censorious when it comes to succes, but all the successful people have often been lucky to be in the right place at the right time. It doesnt mean that it is all about luck, yes we do believe in destiny but most of the time we are supposed to make our own ways; good or bad. Opportunities, YES! Oportunities always knock at every single persons door, it is upto the person either he/she avails it or not. *He gives a 10,000 hours theory of success by saying: 10,000 hours of working on skills seems to be a rule of thumb. But hows that just possible? Yes it is possible, he gives many examples like The Beatles, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Bill Joy, Paul Allen, Martin Lipton and so many others. Let me elaborate a little about Bill Gates as we are familiar with him very much, whose success is often regarded as the result of him being a great programmer and an acute businessman to . Yet what is also well known is that Gates attended the only middle school in the United States with a computer terminal which allowed him as an eighth-grader to rack up the kind of hours of programming practice which, in 1968, was usually found in PhD students. When the hours of his practice were calculated during the research for this book, they found that there were mostly like 10,027 hours of his practice he spent in his life, which made him able to be an Outlier. Please dont mind any typing mistake. I know many of you may deny the facts because it is not clear here and it is just an outline of the book, but I personally recommend you all to read it carefully, just to be able to explore ourselves, to explore our own expertise, to explore the Outlier hidden in us. Thank you very much if you go for it. :) Heres the link to the pdf file for the book: cs.ecust.edu.cn/snwei/studypc/jsjdl/data/OutliersTheStoryOfSuccess.pdf
