STORMWATCH: R.M. of Pipestone including Pipestone and Oak Lake Res. 6:12 PM CDT Friday 14 June 2013 Severe thunderstorm warning for R.M. of Pipestone including Pipestone and Oak Lake Res. issued At 5:10 CST/6:10 CDT, meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing 90 km/h gusts, small hail and locally heavy downpours. This thunderstorm is near Redvers and is moving northeast at 60 km/hr. Storm spotters have reported strong winds of over 90 km/hr at Tioga, Williston, and at the US border south of Estevan. Take cover, if threatening weather approaches. Strong wind gusts can throw around loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and tip over large vehicles. In Canada, lightning kills up to 10 people every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors. Environment Canada continues to monitor the situation closely.
