Assalamu ‘alaikum. When I was in school, our teacher gave us a topic to debate . . . “War does more good than bad”. Wants to be the proposer (pencadang) ? Ha ha . . . .you must be out of your mind (gila) !!! Well, that’s in a debate. In real life, Germany, Japan, Italy lost the war. Vietnam too experienced the aftermath (kesan kemusnahan) of war. They now, however, have one thing in common (satu persamaan); all these nations rose (bangkit) in almost no time (dalam masa yg singkat). The victorious party (pihak yg menang) like Great Britain ironically (ironinya) slipped (tergelincir) from great (dari hebat) to mediocre (biasa). Ha ha . . .if I’ve known that, I would not have hesitated (tidak teragak-agak) to be the proposer. War is definitely bad and traumatic (penuh trauma), but those miserably affected by war (yg sengsara akibat perang) turned wise (menjadi waras). The flood that recently hit (melanda) Kelantan was something not easily forgotten for many years to come. The trauma is unbearable (tidak tertanggung). Everybody shooked their heads in disbelief ! It, however (walaubagaimana pun), brings the bright side of humanity (menyerlahkan nilai-nilai kemanusiaan). Volunteers (sukarelawan) swarmed (berduyun) into Kelantan to help. Donations poured in from people of all walks of life (dari segenap lapisan masyarakat). I applaud (memuji) the efforts (usaha) arranged by the academic advisors (penasihat akademik) with their respective students (pelajar masing-masing); cleaning schools and community premises (membersih sekolah & premis masyarakat) from the aftermath of flood. Sincerely (seikhlasnya), I don’t mind (saya tak kisah) students missing a day of classes; if this effort can bring back the long lost humanity (jika usaha ini dapat mengembalikan semula nilai kemanusiaan yg hilang). This is the time to put education to test (inilah masanya utk mengerakkan kembali impak pendidikan). Verily, our education process needs to be restored (sesungguhnya proses pendidikan kita perlu dipulihkan) . . . . . I brisked through (membelek) the Berita Harian of today 13th January 2015.
