Assistant Professor, Cognitive Neuroscience Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies Adelphi University Tenure-track The Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor level tenure-track position in Cognitive Neuroscience (broadly defined) to begin Fall 2015. The successful applicant will be expected to teach various undergraduate courses including cognitive psychology and neuropsychology, as well as teach a course in cognition, neuroscience and affect to clinical psychology doctoral students. The primary appointment will be in the Psychology Department with responsibilities in the newly developed Neuroscience Major in collaboration with the Department of Biology. The Derner Institute (derner.adelphi.edu) offers an APA-approved PhD in clinical psychology, master’s degrees in general psychology, school psychology, and mental health counseling, post graduate programs, and undergraduate psychology and neuroscience majors. Therefore, candidates with an interest in exploring the intersection of neuroscience with the clinical psychology orientation of the Derner Institute are particularly encouraged to apply. The successful applicant is expected to establish an active research program and have a strong interest in initiating and guiding undergraduate student research. Applicants for the position must have a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree from an accredited institution by Aug. 8, 2015. Candidates must also demonstrate a record of scholarship and strong teaching potential/experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
