Associating jazz with an old sound isnt fair. Putting rules and regulations on what something is supposed to sound like in order for it to be called jazz isnt fair. just cause there arent 50+ changes in every song doesnt mean its a not a form of jazz , and on the other side, just because its not bebop swing, that does not exclude the fact its jazz. 1 dimensional perspectives on jazz is the reason mostly only older crowds listen to and enjoy jazz. SO MANY people fail to realze many of those artists who made it into the 70s progressed the genre to fit the time period and that has NOT changed. People must get out of this 60s mindset. We are taking the elements and moving forward. Sometimes the ignorance of people is hilarious, other times its very sad. A lot of people need to re learn jazz history.
