Assuming that Congress does finally vote on a budget/extension, I - TopicsExpress

Assuming that Congress does finally vote on a budget/extension, I feel the following would be appropriate: 1. Those directly responsible for the partial shutdown of the government should have their wages garnished for 16 business days (touting that youre donating your salary to a charity is a crap political maneuver IMHO); 2. The wages garnished should be distributed among furloughed government workers in direct proportion to unpaid hours, with a larger percentage granted to those employees whose jobs were part of a necessary government function but whose paycheck is based on discretionary budget (read: they had to work, even though they werent being paid); 3. Those responsible should spend their 16 furlough days signing letters of apology to government workers who struggled to pay bills while out of work (theyre not at fault for the way the government spends its money, people-- they got the best job they could find like any other working American); 4. Those responsible should draft, sign, and publicly read a formal letter of apology to the American people for failing to do their job and bringing the country to the edge of economic default; 5. Congress as a whole should IMMEDIATELY draft a resolution preventing any party or group from using such tactics to force their agenda at the risk of jeopardizing the welfare of our country in the future. With this, I formally announce my candidacy for the Presidency in 2016. Youre welcome.
