In North America we get two chances to catch Comet 2004 BL86 as it passes us at a distance of only three times the distance to the moon. Thats really close in cosmic terms. This video was assembled from 119 photos of the asteroid, captured over the course of 2 hours on Sunday, January 25 at Topaz Lake in the Eastern Sierra region on the California/Nevada border.
