Astrology Report – Mercury Retrograde Mercury is going retrograde on the 7th June until the 2nd July. What does this mean? When Mercury is retrograde it is a time when our plans can seem to be thwarted with the unexpected. Even the best laid plans can go awry. And as this retrograde period falls in the time of Gemini (up to the 22nd June) we will be getting a double whammy… When he moves into Cancer for the last week of his backward journey the flavor will change to family and domestic issues. Mercury rules communication, travel, technology, literature, poetry, merchants, and thieves. The god Mercury (Hermes) is cunning and witty at a moment’s notice. But he is also recognized as a trickster and prone to misbehavior, especially when he is in retrograde. It is a time to remain flexible and listen to your intuition, which is usually high during these periods. Coincidences and synchronicity can be extraordinary. It is an excellent time to reflect on the past and what events have lead you to where you are today. A time to review and pay extra attention to detail and make sure your plans are water-tight. (Or should that be air-tight?) It is certainly NOT a good time to sign contracts. The birth of an event will carry the retrograde energy throughout its life.
