At 1:20pm today, I was headed home after some errands, planning to take a left turn onto El Camino Real, at a stoplight in downtown Atascadero... I was a bit spacey in that moment, distracted by the august movie nights sign in the park to my left, thinking oh, that would be fun, and didnt notice the green light beckoning me into the intersection. Once I did, though, I started to pull out into the intersection to take my left turn, and immediately noticed a large pick-up truck, pulling an even larger horse-trailer, barreling down El Camino in my direction, apparently with zero plan of stopping, even though a red light was very much asking her to do so. So I say... Thank You Angels. Thank you for directing my attention to the movie nights sign for a moment, and holding me back. Thank you for then directing my attention to that truck, and guiding me to hold back a moment longer. Woman-in-large-truck-carelessly-running-red-light would have likely smashed straight into my driver-side door had I been in that intersection even a moment earlier.... Life is precious. Angels are real.
