At 2am this morning (broadcast live from Chennai, India) the biggest event this year in chess starts!! It is the FIDE World Chess Championship match between title holder Viswanathan Anand and Norway’s Magnus Carlsen. Carlsen has been compared to Bobby Fischer so I am looking forward to watching the match and hearing the play analysis (in replay as I wont be awake at 2am hopefully). Tomorrow morning the Capitol Classic of the U.S. Backgammon Federation will also be streaming their matches. Plus there will also be my sports to watch like football, soccer, and basketball (and the Arizona Fall League of Minor League Baseball). So if I am trapped in the house at least I will have things to watch although it may drive my wife insane! ;-)
