At 7:30 am Frankie will undergo surgery to remove the lymphnodes that are currently affected by his kidney cancer. He has bravely Iived with active cancer for three years, taking medication that was meant only to slow the growth. His doctors at Sloan Kettering decided in December that an invasive and lengthy surgery in NYC was the best option to move forward with his treatment. He will be in surgery for at least 5 hours and in the hospital for 7days. His recovery time following is at least another three weeks at home and six months before hell really feel like himself again. We decided to wait until The Renal Race was over and to take Jaxon to Disney as planned before committing to the procedure. This year began very difficultly for us and we pray that this surgery will give us a new start...not just to the year, but to our life. Cancer has made us different people and while weve tried our best not to let it take over, it is always there. Our hope is that our commitment to Kicking Kidney Cancer will pay off and that we can finally put this behind us and live without being scared for at least some of the time, and enjoy our son and our life. We know my dad is watching over us, but wed sure appreciate your continued support and prayers. Its means everything to us.
