At 7pm this evening Sinn Fein held a major event in their Rath Mor Offices to brief the families of fallen Volunteers on their decision to send SF representatives to a state banquet in Buckingham Palace. One Volunteers family found out about the event by chance after meeting someone on the street. They made their way to the event and enquired why they were not invited only to be told that they were overlooked because their liaison officer had gone off on holiday and apparently forgot about them. This ridiculous excuse only served to confirm the familys suspicion that they had, in fact, been blackballed because of their republican principles and political opinion. The family were shocked to note that the families of the 40 fallen Volunteers were represented by only a half dozen volunteer family members. Eventually, the family left the meeting in disgust as senior SF figures poured glowing praise on Martin McGuinness and Mairtin OMuilleoir for their courage in dawning their top hats and tails at a British State Banquet hosted by the Queen.
