At 99 1/2 years old Russell Elkins of Cope Indiana went home to be with the Lord today. He has been a good friend and a father figure to me. He left a legacy of being gentle, never saying a harsh word to anybody, happy and content, a good Christian man, who enjoyed reading his Bible, and a hard working farmer who set an example for many to follow. He still cut firewood until about five years ago. Married to his sweetheart, Laura Faye, for 75 years. These pictures of he and Laura Faye were taken in January 2009. We will miss you greatly Russell but look forward to joining you someday when our time comes.
