At Lee County Domestic Animal Services, the adoption fee for cats will be equal to the day of the month for the month of May. For example, adopters can take home a feline companion for $1 on May 1st with the cost increasing by $1 everyday up to $30 on May 30th. All dogs 40 lbs. and over may be adopted for just $40. In addition to sterilization and vaccinations the reduced adoption fees also include a county license, microchip ID, de-worming, flea treatment, a heartworm test for dogs, feline aids and leukemia test for cats, 10-day health guarantee, and behavior helpline. The adoption package is valued at over $500.
