I am disheartened when I see the opponent of Bendon Fox stating that John Beger has exploded his budget, victimized victims and not made himself accessible to the public and victims. Nothing can be farther from the truth. John Beger has been the best Prosecutor we have had in a very long time. I say that thinking of some of the excellent Prosecutors we have had in Phelps County, including my Father, Judge White and Judge Clayton. I have no doubt that John Beger will continue the excellence we have had on the bench in Phelps County including, Judge Sheffield, Judge Moore and many others. I feel just as strongly about the capabilities and proven record of Brendon Fox as one of our Assistant Prosecutors. He is my friend and I will vote for him. Not because he is my friend, but because he is the clear choice as Prosecutor. I will also vote for him because he will be my attorney. One of the items that has been lost in the shuffle is that the Prosecutor is the legal counsel of the County and its officials. John Beger represented us when Mercy tried to shirk its tax responsibility as a for profit corporation. He drafted intergovernmental contracts so that we could gather funding outside of taxpayer funds to acquire technologies and processes that enable the County to provide services while saving taxpayer money. He has provided the Commission with legal advice on many occasions such as road abandonment determinations, contract negotiations, and countless other circumstances. John Beger is as impressive a man, father, husband and friend as he is an attorney. I will not stand silent when his reputation is besmirched and his contributions to the County is discounted. Brendon Fox has not only been groomed by John Beger in his three plus years as Assistant Prosecutor but also for three years in private practice before that. Brendon has served as City Attorney for the City of Rolla and has an outstanding record as a trial lawyer. I hope that Phelps County voters research the candidates and know the difference between a jury trial, bench trial and routine hearings. I am counting as a father on having an excellent Prosecutor to assist law enforcement in keeping our community and families safe. I am also counting on an excellent Prosecutor to act as counsel to our County government. That excellent Prosecutor is clearly Brendon Fox. Experience and record does matter. Please join me tomorrow in voicing support for Brendon Fox by pulling a Republican ballot and making our voices heard.
