At Rizal Ballroom AB of Shangrila Hotel in Makati, we were to listen to the speech entitled, Strength and prosperity through free societies and economies by William Hague, UK Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs. I saw the young Senator Angara, former Flag Officer in Command, Admiral Alexander Pama (seated in the next row), and presumably students of Asian Institute of Management (that played co-host with the British Embassy), Ateneo, La Salle, and UP (Randy, Liberty and me). Food things first, Randy and I who came late when all are already seated ate with typical gusto (who cares of the organisms moving around us?). After the long speech, the Dean of AIM limited the number of those who can ask questions. So it finished like there is hardly anything of value to the whole event anyway especially when I realized that another classmate was there, Liberty Nolasco, a bright doctoral student of UP who said she tried to raise hand but was not called. That question from Liberty could have made a difference. So I think that it was an entirely ordinary event. I would have expected the Dean of AIM to have been more generous. He took most of the time of the event in the preliminary part leaving nothing at the end. Self-maximizer? You bet. Am not happy with this Exchange of Notes. There were no notes.
