At a recent township supervisors meeting, Silver Spring Township board president Nancy Konhaus Griffie reported she had been notified by a property official that residents of Silver Spring Gardens, located on Ashburg Drive near the northwest corner of the Cumberland Valley football field, were frightened by the amount of students who choose to park on their street, rather than in the school parking lot. Griffie said complaints include the student drivers driving too fast and turning around in the apartment driveway. The concerns are familiar to Cumberland Valley district officials. “We have received questions and concerns in past school years regarding students parking along the neighborhood roads around the high school,” said Tracy Panzer, district spokeswoman. “However, we only have jurisdiction over parking on school grounds.”
