At a time when West (US) tries hard to isolate Russia, India invites lame duck US President to attend Republic Day Event. Given the lame duck status of US President, this event doesnt really mean anything significant but a symbolic move indicating two great democracies are getting even closer. And it shall have a significant positive positive impact on future Indo-US relations. Modi perhaps trying to send a message to China, too. I though feel bad for our old trusted friend Russia since Russian President Vladimir Putin is just due to visit India in December. I so wonder how Putin is going to see this development! Nevertheless, keeping the aggressive and ever irritating attitude of China in mind, the move looks pretty good.
