At about 11.15am this morning 2 youths stole a handbag out of the car as a woman was pulling into a driveway in Kewdale on Knutsford Avenue near the cinemas. I don’t have the nuts and bolts of the actual offending behaviour – that will come to light later. At this stage it looks like a witness has called us with a very detailed and accurate description of the likely offenders and with the help of Perth Transport Authority staff we were very quickly able to identify and monitor the movements of these 2 males as they tried to get away using public transport. SEM District Control Centre had the chance to line all the ducks up and staff from PTA, Northern Response, SEMD LPT’s assisted by staff from Central Metro District were able to respond to the matter. The alleged offenders were taken into custody by PTA officers as they got off a train in Perth and were handed over to WA Police soon afte and are currently assisting Detectives from the SEMD who are managing the investigation. All is likely to end well because it started with a very good description of who, what and where.
