At around 8.30pm Sat night, the WTP SSP1 at Btg Berjuntai detected - TopicsExpress

At around 8.30pm Sat night, the WTP SSP1 at Btg Berjuntai detected hydrocarbon slicks and scent of paint. As such it shut down immediately along with WTP SSP2, SSP3 and RantauPjg. The teams from LUAS were deployed upstream, including Rawang to detect the source of the hydrocarbon slick/smell. After 8 hours of stoppage, it was collectively decided that the pumps should restart at 5am as there was no/minimal hydrocarbon presence and no smell was detected. By around 5.30am all intake points had begun pumping into the treatment plants and we were able to leave the site. There may be some water interruptions/low water pressure during the morning as some reservoirs may need to build up volume before distribution.
