At least in the US, citizens are able to have well informed opinions of some worth. In fact, in the US, the first amendment offers very strong constitutional protection to the right to free speech which is a prerequisite for an informed opinion of worth. And the Supreme Court backs that right. In contrast, under Thai law, no citizen can have an opinion on many topics of grave public concern - harsh prison sentences backed by court rulings ensure that the ignorance intended is enforced so that all lawful opinion is necessarily worthless. Why does Thai law enforce such ignorant, worthless opinion?
