At least the British were smart in getting rid of the Religious Right... Unfortunately America inherited them... Its been downhill ever since... The Puritans were not just simple religious conservatives persecuted by the King and the Church of England for their unorthodox beliefs. They were political revolutionaries who not only intended to overthrow the government of England, but who actually did so in 1649. Chuck Larsen
