At school today, we celebrated Fathers Day (which is also His Majesty the Kings birthday). During the assembly, the entire school stood and sang the Royal Anthem (just for the king and queen, different than the national anthem). As I am MCing the event in front of everyone, I tear up and borderline start to cry; the amount of respect and pride the people have for their King and country is unbelievable. I know that even though I am proud of where I come from, there will never be a time where so much respect is held for one individual, let alone enough to put a two-truce in place during a civil war. Thai culture is something really special and I am blessed to see how things run differently here. In other news, Im running an 11km race tomorrow, because I love to torture myself.
