At some point it is no longer our (the LGBTQQ) responsibility to educate you our straight allies. While this isnt meant as offensive, I do feel that it is something that needs to be said. While I love and respect most of my straight friends, family, co-workers etc, at some point I get tired of having to teach. Every new person I encounter is another person I have to come out to. Most times with each interaction I have to reaffirm my gayness, against their assumptions about me, my relationships, my gender identity. It becomes a tiresome process, but yes we do need our straight allies. But at some point it becomes you responsibility to pick up the mantle of teaching others. We as the LGBTQQ do it every day of our lives. Its your turn.
