At the 6pm Horry County Council meeting last night, Council passed - TopicsExpress

At the 6pm Horry County Council meeting last night, Council passed the third and final reading banning tents along the unincorporated beaches of Horry County (Ocean Lakes’ beach). This new ordinance will be effective immediately and will be year round. We are waiting to receive the exact wording from Council, however, here is an explantation of the new ordinance provided by The Sun News (myrtlebeachonline/2014/04/15/4168028/horry-county-myrtle-beach-and.html), which also points out the new ordinances for Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach. As of now the only beach in our area that allows tents on the beach is Surfside Beach (roughly 2 miles of beachfront, starts at the south perimeter of Ocean Lakes). We are working on communicating this new ordinance to all of our guests to ensure that no one is caught off guard on their vacation. In doing this, please keep in mind that this decision is out of our control. We understand that some of our guests feel passionate about this topic.
