At the Chicago airport after leaving Miami, I was able to identify - TopicsExpress

At the Chicago airport after leaving Miami, I was able to identify why I felt so out of sorts walking through the crowd. I found myself trying to make eye contact with people as I passed them, still looking for the friendly, excited faces of my Rock Boat Family members on their way to or from an event... searching for the familiar smiles of friends I havent seen since our last cruise together. On the Rock Boat, whether I knew them or not, everyone I passed made eye contact and eagerly sought the same momentary connection with me, confirmation that we were sharing something special and fun and unique. At the airport, no friendly faces smiled back or made eye contact. No connections. No family feeling. Surrounded by disconnected people busily bustling to their destinations, I felt alone and I missed my Rock Boat Family even more. Wouldnt the world be a much nicer place if the way everyone greeted one another when they passed was how we connect when were on The Rock Boat?
