At the Child Poverty Action Group (CPAG) post budget breakfast this morning in Western Springs with Metiria Turei and Cinnamon Whitlock. Peter Jeffries below (CEO of Community of Refuge Trust CORT) talked about the main causes of the Auckland housing crisis. Another speaker social economist Dr Steve Poletti projected a sobering 20% increase in housing prices over the next 3 years if the market continues as it is. Things are already disastrous. That hike will hammer families again. Yesterdays budget doesnt address this but a strong Green Party vote will get serious on it.
