At the Councils Overview and Scrutiny Board tonight your Councillor and my Lib Dem Colleague has asked Mayor on protection for Totterdown & New Walls residents from overflow parking once Arena in place. Mayor suggests that by the time it is built in 2017, Totterdown will want or need an RPZ anyway and is wary if additional costs on operator (which will reduce receipts to council). He proceeded to advise that the Arena will have less car-parking spaces than comparable Arenas and argues he wants a Sustainable Arena linked with a public transport hub... He offered no real succour for residents here as to any special provisions - or external funding - this one is going to be a real fight.
