At the beginning of our little venture into international dressage - TopicsExpress

At the beginning of our little venture into international dressage I made a pact with myself that no matter what happened I was determined not to get shattered and to remember what my brother always said, One more day with your eyes open is a good day .i knew I was pushing the proverbial up hill, I didnt realise quite how steep it was going to get but that is a story for another day! ;0) Tonight we were the guests of the Swarovski family at a Gala dinner. How cool is that! We are in the amazing Tyrol region, surrounded by Austrian alps, riding amazing horses and hosted by the Swarovskis. Special table set aside for Team Australia and thank god Lyn and I went along to support the show and be the token Aussies there. Thankfully team Koschel were gracious enough to join us so we werent sitting alone . It was such a fantastic night and experience, Stephan Peters and team USA, Jan Bemelman, Kasselmans and so many famous riders and coaches. It was the final international competition for the amazing Karen Rebein, long time trainer of Kristy Oatley. They had a wonderful ceremony for her farewell hosted my Mr and Mrs Swarovski. We felt proud and privelidged to witness it all . We will probably never get to do this again and it was just a wonderful ,slightly odd evening and cultural experience. These wonderful horses have certainly taken us to some amazing places. From Walgett in outback NSW to Swarovski Austria. What a wonderful world. A score is only a score, one or two percent from sad to happy. So long as we get Her Highness home alive the rest will be ok.One more day with your eyes open.
