At the moment we are in the first year of the 100th anniversary of World War I. On December 25th 1914 the guns fell silent at several locations along the Western Front in France. German and British soldiers met between the trenches to exchange small talk and food. Some soccer was also played. The truce has lived forever in legend fighting continued in other locations and in some areas the truce was mainly for the collection of dead and wounded.
