At the onset I wish all the friends A VERY HAP FRIENDSHIP DAY. will be retiring from the services of the bank on the 12 th of August 2013 , I have penned down a few thoughts that came to my mind. Whatever I have written is in earnest and I mean each and every word. To all my dear colleagues at Corporation Bank past and present. Yes ultimately the time has arrived, which I was waiting for. People say that it is not easy to step into your sunset years (retirement) after working for a better part of your life and remaining busy. In my case I am doing so four years ahead of superannuation and hence it may be said that it would be harder for me, but believe you me, it is not so, I look forward to it. Yes I have worked all these (34) years and remained busy but without giving a thought to myself, my parents, my wife and my children, I was a slave to my job not being able to enjoy the prime time of my life and at the same time depriving my family and friends of my company whenever they might have so desired. I am indeed sorry for the same and intend to make amends now, better late than never. I have planned to invest in my life by spending more time with my family and friends and for a change living for them. I plan to pick up new skills in computer software, not for profit but for the sheer pleasure of doing so. I love to read and travel which I plan to do and enjoy. I have a very huge circle of close friends, friends from my school and college days ie. almost 40 years of close friendship which has stood the test of time .we have been there for one another in times of sorrow and joy as well, we have planned for our life after retirement and now my time has come to put into fruition the plans made by us. I am sure that with your best wishes all our dreams will come true. Thank you. While I bid you adieu I take this opportunity to thank all my past and present colleagues who have definitely contributed in some way or the other to my becoming a better human being, I wish you and your family all the very best of health, wealth and prosperity. I wish all of you a very bright and rewarding career in the Bank. I am eternally grateful to the Bank for providing me the opportunity to meet Usha who now is my better half and who has always been a source of immense strength and help all through my life. I would sincerely like to acknowledge with gratitude the help rendered to me by my young colleagues at our Zonal office when I was unwell and had to be hospitalized in Vadodara and also the senior colleagues who were working at our Zonal Office, a few of them are now posted elsewhere, for coming to the aid of Usha (my wife) and helping her out of any difficulties she encountered while she had to attend to me at the hospital.
