At the opening session of the week, the bourse was characterized by subdued trading with turnover falling 69.3% to KES 324.9m, however the index marked a 0.1% gain to close at 5033.69 points. Top gains in the session was recorded on NIC Bank +7.5% to KES 79.00, Eaagads (+7.1%, KES 33.75) and Crown paints, closing at its 52 week high of KES 107.00 after gaining 7.0%. Standard Group remained unchanged at KES 32.00, after releasing its 1H14 performance. The media group EPS stood at KES 2.68 (1H13 EPS, KES 2.92) as a result of a slower growth in revenue (+1.50% y/y), with group expenses rising 2.65% y/y. While ahead of its 1H14 results release set for Thursday 28th, Nation media also remained unchanged at KES 312.00. Transcentury, the top loser in the session, declined 4.5% to KES 21.00. The investment firm had declared a loss per share of KES 5.92 (1H13 EPS KES 0.89) at the close of previous session. Kenol Kobil remained the top mover, for the second consecutive session accounting for 22.8% of turnover
