Syrias disease is its secular identity and aspirations . And, even if Iran and Hizbullah were not challenging Syria on this ground, Syria still felt that it had to distance itself from them and become closer to its Russian secular ally .It is this step that internationalized the struggle in Syria and deprived Syria of its victory after it became almost totally exposed , not to forget the fact that Syria did not want to embrace the Resistance and make it its own . Now, Syria and the children of Syria are still paying the price of such wrong choice and wrong order of priorities . The war has not ended and will not end soon, and the victory that was within reach seems very far . What we have -instead- is this endless battle that cannot be translated into anything and Russia was not the final destination because- through Russia - Syria had to be exposed to the World Order and is now again under direct threat and subject to another round of the same war that started more than three years ago .
