At the risk of being a debbie downer. I oppose the idea of James or anyone else sending GA a 900 ring to have. Its a noble gesture and a nice sacrifice on Jamess part, but its the wrong thing to do. Its never been about the ring. GA has been given at least two rings if you listen to the interview on YouTube. Additionally I have spoken to at least five people who have offered to donate money to have a gold ring made for GA. We could easily get him some kind of ring and probably have it delivered in time for Thanksgiving. But its not about the ring and never has been. The goal has always been for GAs 900 and Ray Orfs 890 and a host of other suspiciously denied scores to be put in the record books... with an asterisk if needed. Certification/approval is what we want. We can give GA a replica ring or a ring that someone else earned, but it would just be a token. It is not the same as certification. Its an honorable offer by James but he should not have to give up his ring. Neither should anyone else who achieved the feat. Even Mr Prebowl should keep his... that would be almost an insult if thats the ring that GA got to wear. The goal should be certification. If thats achieved, a ring - Glenns very own - will follow. These are my two cents. Some wont agree and some wont care what I have to say, but hope you think about it before you try to drum up all those likes. Think about Pete Rose. His fans could get him a plaque that says he is in the Hall or someone else could donate their plaque. Thats not the same as Pete being in the Hall.
