At the risk of having another restraining order filed against me, - TopicsExpress

At the risk of having another restraining order filed against me, I will again reiterate again how the SOCUSD can improve their image in the local community by trying some cost saving measures instead of continuing to ask the citizens of Sedona for more money. Here we go: 1. Combine the vice principal and athletic director positions at RRHS. It works at Camp Verde High School..(FYI- Camp Verde has never asked their citizens for an override) 2. Have a principal at RRHS and eliminate the vice principal position. When I worked there, Lykins was the principal, and for one year, he had no vice principal. It worked. Was he running? heck yeah! Was he busy? Yes! So what? For $73,000 a year, you should work hard! 3.Why couldnt the superintendent also be the principal at RRHS? It is only 400+ students..The savings would be enormous. You could add a vice principal to help. As I have stated before, Tim Foist, former super of Mingus Union in Cottonwood, Volunteered to be a part-time superintendent, cutting his salary to $60,000, and asking that the extra funds be applied towards teacher salaries. Why is that not possible in Sedona? Once again, it worked...(Mingus student population is at 1200, as is SOCUSD). My message to the school board is this: Your image in the community is not good. You have always said Its for the kids, and, Together We Can. My question is this: What is for the kids? The PE, Hospitality, Auto Shop and Special Ed positions that have been cut at RRHS? The Librarian position at WSS? You have the opportunity to be Heroes in the community. What are you going to do?
