At the tea shop today I went to use our washroom and lifted the toilet lid to find a tiny little grey mouse, half in and half out of the water, trembling. NO - I could NOT bring myself to flush it. It was perfectly still, probably exhausted from trying not to slip further into the water for however long it was in there. I got a small bucket and a COVER and coaxed it out of the water. I then walked TWO BLOCKS to toss him gently onto the grass in a sheltered hedgerow. It actually looked up at my face and I felt GUILT at just casually disposing of a living being like that. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH MY MIND?!?! Seriously, its VERMIN.
